SECRET DREAMWORLD OF A SHOPAHOLIC

Mega-producer Jerry Bruckheimer brings this film based on the popular Shophaolic series of novels by UK author Madeleine Wickham, to life. The story follows a compulsive shopper up to her neck in debt who ironically becomes a financial advice columnist and ends up falling in love with her editor, that is until the ugly truth is revealed on television and she is forced to change her ways.

Description of Book

Becky Bloomwood is a financial journalist. She spends her working life telling others how to manage their money. She spends her leisure time… shopping. She knows she should stop, but she can't. She really needs that pink angora cardigan - and wouldn't it actually be cheaper to buy a grey one too, as they're so reasonable? And as for the designer scarf, at only £120, reduced from £340, it's saving money to buy it.
She tries Cutting Back, she tries Making More Money. But neither seems to work. She's in trouble with the bank, the Visa people, and the various stores where she has a chargecard, and the stories she concocts to try and get out of trouble become more and more elaborate. Can Becky ever escape from this dream world and regain the use of her Switch card?
